Top 5 Tips For Better Work Life Balance When Working From Home

Working from home can be difficult at the best of times but having to juggle the current circumstances we are all in with work, day to day life, navigating family and children or dealing with complete isolation can be really tough.

Setting up your workspace can be an important piece in the jigsaw puzzle of a good work life balance and here’s my top tips for how to win every day:

Segmenting your workspace to where you sleep and relax is key to help maintain your work life boundaries and keeping your bedroom a special space for you to unwind.

Keeping your work station in one place can help create structure and routine and help your mind to focus when you are in your work space and avoid distractions like going to put the washing on or all the other life admin that needs doing. Make sure you have everything you need from your favourite stapler to laptop plugged in and ready to go to make it as easy as possible to get going in the morning.

It’s important to take breaks throughout the day and although you might think you can get more done being chained to your desk, research has proven we are more productive if we take small breaks often. Research has also shown that those who eat at their desks are more likely to put on weight and eat more.

Movement is such a key player for staying healthy and getting some fresh air everyday does wonders for the mind and body - try 40mins walking outside everyday.
